Personal Information Protection:Personal information will be collected from you for the purpose of obtaining and verifying details about your community organisation and will be used by your nominated host Online Access Centre for registering you as a representative of your organisation and providing services. Failure to provide this information may result in your group not being listed as part of Tasmania's CommunityNet. Your personal information will be used for the primary purpose for which it is collected. Personal information will be managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 from the date of its implementation and may be accessed by the individual to whom it relates on request to the nominated host Online Access Centre. You can obtain a copy of the department’s Personal Information Protection Policy on request to any Online Access Centre or via the internet at: www.education.tas.gov.au/deis/policies/pip/pippolicy.htm Welcome Tasmanian Communities Online maintains a comprehensive list of Tasmanian community groups through our network of 64 Online Access Centres. We hope you will take a few minutes and register with us so that you can create (and in the future, update) a record for your group. This Is A Two Step Process ... When you have read the information below, you will be asked to complete a short form. When submitted, a password will be sent to you by e-mail, along with instructions on how to log in to a separate site to create a record for your group. You will need to be able to access this e-mail to continue with entering your group's information. Please read the information below and click on "I Agree" to continue. Information Required You will need ready access to information about your group in order to complete your entry. Aside for the group's full name, you will need contact information (ie. address, phone, fax, e-mail, URL etc.), membership criteria and the normal meeting schedule. You will also need a short description (up to 255 characters, for search engines) and a long description (no size limit). You can proceed if you only have some of this information now, and come back later and edit or expand on your record. Eligibility This service is open to associations, charities, clubs and societies who meet the following criteria:
Conditions Of Use: You must be authorised by your group to use and publish information about it on the Internet and to be in possession of a user name and password on its behalf. You must not use another's name, username or password without permission, or use this service or publish any material in a way which interferes with other users or defames, harasses, threatens, menaces, offends or restricts any person. You must not post any obscene, indecent, inflammatory or offesnive material or material that could give rise to civil or criminal proceedings. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of computers and the Internet at all times complies with State and Commonwealth Laws. Caution must be exercised in communicating personal or sensitive information by entering it on a website. E-mail addresses provided may be unknowingly collected by third-parties and used for unwanted purposes. Records may be edited or removed without notice where content is contrary to the Conditions of Use. Waiver of Responsibility: This is a community service provided by the Crown in Right of the State of Tasmania to assist non profit organisations to publish information on the World Wide Web. The Crown makes no representations as to the reliability, availability or integrity of this service and the Crown accepts no responsibility for information entered into or maintained therein (whether due to negligence or otherwise), howsoever arising or your reliance upon it.
