BOOKINGS POLICY
Welcome to the Online Access Centre
the Centre operates with just a few guidelines to ensure we have flexibility in meeting the diverse needs of our clients
we encourage our clients to make advance bookings for computers to ensure that your needs are met and that you gain access when you need it
on occasion the Centre will need to vary its approach to bookings to accommodate unique circumstances and the changing needs of clients and the decision of the Centre is final
+ clients are able to book a computer for initially a maximum of 1 hr or less if they wish
+ if the computers are not all being used & there are no clients waiting for an available computer, clients can extend the time already booked to 30 minutes at a time or longer in negotiation with the Centre – please note that negotiation of extending times will always try to accommodate each clients needs as they are expressed at the time, however the final decision in this area rests with the Centre
+ extending a clients booking beyond the initial booking time period wont be able to occur if all the computers are being used or if we have other clients waiting for a computer – this also applies in the case of a client having booked a computer for less than an hour and their time being completed
+ in the event of all computers being used or if a specific computer is required [e.g. computer with scanner attached]), any client who has used their hour or extended their booking will be kindly informed by OAC Volunteers to finish up within 2 minutes
+ clients are usually able to make only one booking per day, however an additional booking can be made at the discretion of the Centre if the demand for a computers permits
+ clients who are part of targeted program via the Online Access Centre have unlimited time bookings on computers during the period of the program | these include participants in:
o elearn
+ a computer booking will be held for a maximum of 10 minutes before being allocated to another client, unless you have made arrangements with the Centre
+ State library of Tasmania internet usage policy guidelines are here fyi http://www.statelibrary.tas.gov.au/whatdo/useyourlib/internetandcomp/conditionsofuse
