Local History / Bellerive Historical Society Inc


The Society's objectives are :
-to research, document & publicise the history of Bellerive,
-to accept gifts of an historical nature including photographs & memorabilia where deemed appropriate,
-to catalogue, safeguard & restore gifts & to display them to the public
-to restore & care for local heritage items.
The Society was founded in 1990.
The monthly newsletter is sent to members & there have now been over 130 issues publishing notices of meeting & historical articles.
Four volumes in the 'Bellerive Heritage' series have been published & are available for purchase from the Bellerive Newsagent or the History Room.
The Bellerive History Room is located at 8 Cambridge Road, Bellerive, near the ferry wharf & next to the Clarence Waterfront Hotel. It is in Baldy's Clip Joint (Barber Shop) & is open every weekday during normal business hours & Saturday mornings from 8 - 11 am. It displays photos, historical material & the Society's publications.

Meeting Schedule
The Society meets on the first Wednesday of every month (except January) at 7.30 pm at the Bellerive Community Arts Centre, 17 Cambridge Road.
