The Burnie Historical Society aims:
To foster an interest in and to gather, record, collate, and store
the history of the Burnie area and its people.
To encourage and assist in the identification and preservation of
the area's historical buildings, monuments and relics.
To assume the role of the former Pioneer Village Museum
Advisory Committee in offering advice or assistance to the
Museum Management or the Council in regard to the Museum as
requested, as it seems able so to do and as determined by the
Committee.
