Political/Lobby / Association of Independent Retirees Ltd (A.I.R.)

The Association of Independent Retirees (AIR) is a lobbying group for fully self-funded or partly self-funded retirees. Its main aim is to obtain equity of services and benefits for self-funded or partly self-funded individuals and couples, with those who are fully funded by the Commonwealth. There are monthly meetings with a variety of guest-speakers, and occasional social functions.

Meeting Schedule
The Burnie branch of the Associaition of Independent Retirees meets on a monthly basis, on the fourth Friday of the month. Meetings commence at 10.00 am with refreshments, and generally conclude around mid-day. Meetings are held at the Frank Stokes Burnie Bowling Club, near West Park in Burnie.

Membership open to
Membership is restricted to those retired or semi-retired people of any age who are not in receipt of a full Commonwealth aged pension.

Area Served
The Burnie branch of the Association of Independent Retirees has members from Ulverstone to Smithton, and the West Coast.
