Meals on Wheels provides a midday meal to the recipient in their home each day, usually Monday to Friday, including public holidays.
The meal is delivered by volunteer drivers and helpers between 11.00 am and 1.30 p.m.
The meal consists of three courses: soup, meat and vegetables and a sweet. A vitamin "C" supplement, usually orange or black currant juice, is also provided.
The meals are served in aluminium foil containers for delivery to recipients.
Anyone in need of the meals on Wheels service can be recommended by family, friends or neighbours, or can just request meals themselves.
