Local History / Defence Transport Heritage of Tasmania

http://www.dtht.org.au
The DEFENCE TRANSPORT HERITAGE was conceived circa 2003 with the aim of providing a forum for persons interested in Restoring, Preserving, Using and Displaying ex Military Vehicles and their associated equipment. The Heritage is not a Para- Military organisation, and in no way glorifies or supports war.

Membership is directed mainly towards the Tasmanian North and Northwest. The Heritage communicates with other like interest groups in most mainland states, and produces a quality quarterly Newsletter.

A Web Information site is being established. Membership is $20.00 per year, and new members are welcome, vehicle ownership is not mandatory. Members vehicles currently total 16 units and include:

Dodges, Studebakers, Jeeps, Land Rovers, Federal, Gama Goat, Bren Carriers and White Scout Car. The Heritage is keen to follow up on any information as to the whereabouts of any vehicles, parts, uniforms or equipment to enhance displays and preserve our history.

Please contact a member today if you can assist.
