This group aims to implement the Derwent Catchment Natural Resource Management Plan. The committee has close connections to local landcare groups, Greening Australia, Derwent Valley and Central Highlands Council, ensuring positive on-ground NRM outcomes.
The committee works closely with a number of stakeholders with the aim of enhancing the Natural Resources within the Derwent Catchment. However they also work on a regional level being a host organisation for NRM South is one way they achieve this.
The committee is a volunteer organisation, however through the support of a number of stakeholders but primarily Central Highlands council they employ the services of a NRM officer.
They are currently working in partnership with Greening Australia Tasmania on the Derwent River Recovery.
Contact Steven Joyce for details for this or any other NRM issues within the catchment.
A copy of the Derwent Catchment Natural Resource Management Plan is available on the Central Highlands Council Website.
