The Lions Club of New Norfolk Inc was chartered in 1967 and one of its first projects was the construction of the wading pool at the New Norfolk Swimming Pool. Many features which are taken for granted around new Norfolk are in fact projects of the Lions Club eg Bush Inn Steps to the Esplanade, Information Bay at the entrance to town, Tynwald Park BBQs and play equipment, BBQs at the Bushy Park Pool. The club has recently replaced the vehicle used by the Derwent Valley Community Services.
