Social Club / North West Bay Garden Club

Margate Garden Club holds monthly meetings to discuss gardening problems, hear helpful hints from other gardeners, have coffee and a chat and hear regular guest speakers and go on garden visits. Last year we had Lindy Campbell from Island Herbs, Ted & Joy from Jubilee Nursery with a lovely display of rhodo flowers, Kris Schaffer on Native Garden Design, John from Mitre 10 with his usual wit and free plants, the list goes on ...

Please let Anne know if you are after any specific information or want help from your favourite expert and we will try and arrange it! Peter Cundall is probably a bit too busy these days, though.

The Garden Club will be arranging group visits to Open Garden Scheme or semi-permanent open gardens during 2003. Anyone interested please contact Anne on 62672152.

Possibilities include:
Plants of Tasmania Nursery and Gardens, Ridgeway
Island Fudge Factory and Female Prison Site, South Hobart
Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Hobart
Four Winds, New Norfolk
Kris Schaffer's Garden, Neika
Mark Geeves' Garden, Kermandie
The Scented Rose, Glaziers Bay
Bob Magnus' Apple Orchard, Woodbridge

Just a reminder that there is a trade table at each meeting for any of your extra propogating work or anything really! All proceeds go to support the Club and help pay for a token present for our guest speakers.
