Woodchopping is a truly Heritage Sport first originating here in Tasmania.
Woodchopping today can be witnessed at shows and carnivals all over Tasmania practically every weekend from October to May each year.
Not only here but also on the mainland at Royal Shows.
All disciplines of the sport are showcased to simulate how are forefathers cleared the land by hand in the early days.
The skill of axe and crosscut saw handling is demonstrated.
