Social Club / Glenorchy U3A

http://www.u3aglenorchy.org.au
The philosophy of U3A is that groups of like-minded people should get together and endeavour to keep active in mind and body in the third Age of Life.

The first U3A was established in Toulouse, France, in 1972. The U3A movement is well established in the United Kingdom, USA and Europe.

Australia’s first U3A started in Melbourne in 1984. Today there are more than 98 U3A branches with a total membership exceeding 23 600.

All the work by the tutors, members, and the committee is done on a voluntary basis. The only cost is a yearly membership fee and the cost of materials used.

No qualifications are required to join U3A classes. Class groups are sociable, supportive, lots of fun and, where possible, provide tuition from within their own ranks. It’s about developing new interests and meeting new people. Many friendships are made.
