The Australian Navy Cadets is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Australian Navy for boys and girls 12yr 6m - 18 years of age.
Units, supported by local committees, are established throughout Australia. Each Unit has its own name and identity and offers training and practical experience in seamanship, boatwork and a wide range of specialist skills.
By involvement, Cadets are encouraged to explore their potential whilst developing confidence, pride and self-discipline, in a happy but challanging environment.
Some Cadets use this experience to further career options in the Navy.
