Trowutta is a very small community area. It boasts one community building (our clubrooms) and that is all. It is known for its rural assets. The farms here are mainly dairy, beef, potatoes, poppies and trees. We are a very family orientated club who don't mind a social function or two.
Well what can I say about the players. We try to put a lot of time into our younger players. We understand that this is where the future of our club and small community clubs like ours lay. The under 13's side is as non competitive as possible. There is no official score kept but the boys like to keep a tally of their wins.
The under 16's are encouraged to show good sportsmanship. They try their hardest but (I think) understand that there can be only one winner on the day so to they should enjoy themselves as much as possible as well.
The Seconds are a bunch of blokes made up of mainly young guys trying their hardest, hopefully for a spot in our highly talented senior line up. Then there is a few old locals, thrown in to make up the numbers. These guys are trying desperately to hang onto their youth, thinking they are still champions on that hollowed turf, especially after a few social drinks back in the clubrooms. They again try to keep up with the young guns, normally going home early to return a few days later boasting about their deeds the week before on and off the field. But on a serious note, these guys are the heart and soul of our club, along with the other guys in the seconds. They are true DOGS, fighting all for that one moment. SUCCESS.
About the T/C BULLDOGS SENIORS. There was movement on the mountain for the word had passed around, for the DOGS from the hill are coming to town. Opposition teams can be seen weeping with fright on days leading up to match day. 19 fit, strong and mean guys, playing with a passion not seen in country football for a long time in this region. All playing as one, as brothers. That is our main goal, to play as one big unit. You could say, one big pack, "pack of DOGS", hunting the opposition team down, working like brothers for each other and their family, "The Club".
It is a delight to watch the hardness and passion these guys show on the field for each other and the colours they wear on their backs. The skills and tactics are second to none. For this is why these guys should bring home the BIG ONE at the end of the year. As a regular senior player I would like to say that for a senior side to be a winner you need more than 19 quality players and a brilliant coach. You need a successful committee both ladies and men, a seconds side pushing seniors hard for their spot and a junior development program. All this, to the credit of our club, is successfully being done. That is why we will be marching onto victory in the Bulldog way.
