Dolly Dalrymple family
My mother (nee Lilian Rogers) born in Queenstown, Tasmania, was the granddaughter of Alfred, son of Dolly and Thomas Johnson, we have various records of the family tree and also a book written by Diane Wyllie. So, I am 5th generation from Dolly and have 4 siblings. I have the family bible which was given to my grandmother (Florence Johnson) when aged 8, and she was living at Sherwood at that time. My mother passed on 10 years ago, had some knowledge of her aboriginal ancestry., but was rather reticent about it. She left Latrobe, Tasmania when she was young and settled in Kensington, Victoria. My family and I find the history very interesting, and have photos of Manarlargenna, Dolly's grandfather and a tribal chief from the Furneaux Islands. Did you know there is a large portrait of him in the Adelaide Museum? My name is Patricia Davies., my email address 'pjdavies@tadaust.org.au'

Dolly's family
I wonder how she would feel to know that she and Thomas created such a vaste family. I've been searching the tree for a few years now and, with the help of some other very dedicated genealogists - and some detractors - I have built some 2000 little branchlets and still going. I belong to the Medcrafts - my Mum Bryda was born in Sheffield. I'm coming back at the end of March to finally walk the cemeteries and do the ancestry thing. I can't wait - I spent a fair bit of time in Tassie as a small child - I think Mum was a bit homesick.
