Community Overview 
Winnaleah is a small town in rural far North East Tasmania within the Dorset Municipality. The area is surrounded by a variety of farms including dairy, beef, sheep, pigs as well as crops such as poppies, hops, potatoes and plantation forests.
There are several commercial businesses and talented artists within the community along with several active clubs including; football, netball, cricket, darts, Lions.
Winnaleah is only a 2km detour off the Tasman Highway (A4)
A number of small surrounding towns, including Herrick, Pioneer Gladstone, Derby & Branxholm, support local activities and sent their children to the Winnaleah District High School.
The Mount William National Park and the Blue Lakes & Cube Rock at South Mount Cameron are popular tourist attractions.
Gladstone
A former tin and gold mining district, Gladstone is the main entrance to Mount William National Park and Eddystone Point light House.
Gem fossicking is still popular in nearby river beds. The historic cemetery glimpses into the involvement of the Chinese in the tin mining times of the northeast.
The once bustling town, now has a general store, a hotel and a police station.
